Learning English Language

Hello guys, how are you all doing? I hope you are doing great. I am, I got good news today and I'm so happy and thankful to God. The news outlets lately keep dishing us depressing information to the point where we are beginning to get immune to bad/terrible news. We don't even know how to feel or express our  sympathy anymore, it has become too much. For this reason, I celebrate any good news I get like my life's problems are all solved. Anyway, that's far from the topic today. English language is not as easy as you may think. I used to think I was a pro, but I learned to stop deceiving myself. It is very easy to get confused and for others with poor educational foundations, it is a really tough situation. I want us to go over some common errors we make in English language and hopefully, this will help someone.

Easy Exercises to Tone Your Arms

Hi everyone. Today, we will be going through some work out routines to help firm up the arms. You know you need them when you wave at your friend and seconds after you're done waving, your triceps are still jiggling away. This is most common to women due to fats and hormonal changes that occur with age. It is so common that it has been given nicknames such as "Christian mother", and for the northern Nigerians "Matan zumunta arms". It could get very embarrassing but not to worry, you can start some routines to help you firm up those excited muscles and give you the freedom and confidence to rock your sleeveless wears again.

Parenting - The "Little Things" You Do That Ruin Your Child

picture from www.dailymail.co.uk

Hi everyone. How is work, love and life treating you, I hope we're happy with at least one of these. I want to talk about parenting and I hope I can stick to "the little things" here - whatever they are. Some of us are parents already, some will be, pretty soon, and some, hope to be one day. The thing is, many people have no idea what it takes to be parents, yes, even some that have 20 kids already. It's not just about giving birth so you could bear the title mummy/daddy, having little ones to send on errands to the nearby store or simply to have people to take care of you when you're old and gray. No, it goes way beyond that. Having children should not be for your selfish reasons alone (yes, alone because let's face it, it should be for our joy too). The society we have today is one way or another as a result of the grooming the people received by the parents. One day, your daughter might be president, your son might be an ambassador, what values will you instill in them? The foundation of everything in life goes a long way in determining the strength and success of that entity. Our children's foundations should be built by us and I tell you it is not an easy task at all, there are influences everywhere but at the end of the day they come back home to you and they look up to you the most. What do you tell them is wrong or right? What do you trash out and tell them never to pick up again? Do you tell them why? Let's look at some things parents do that affect their kids and hopefully, let's start to amend our ways; it's never too late to try.

Get Spicy with Garlic

picture from http://eofdreams.com/

Hey guys, how are you doing? I apologize for my recent silence here, I've been away for a while. I traveled and have been all over the place (sort of), since my return. A lot of things have come up but hopefully I'll sort them out soon.

Let's talk about a delicious healthy herb today; garlic. The first thing that comes to mind for most people when the word garlic is heard or read is the distinctive smell. I once told you that my mum considers any meal without garlic and ginger as bland, well, guess what, she can manage living without the ginger but she must have her garlic. I personally love garlic in food albeit in small quantity, I know how much it ruins our breath but sometimes we just choose to live life and live healthy right and honestly if I'm going to be eating in my home, I can't avoid it. When I was much younger, my mum used to mash garlic and mix it up with honey as treatment for respiratory discomfort. She graduated from that to chewing raw garlic and today, garlic is added to practically all our meals. My mum is in her early sixties and I must say, she's pretty strong and healthy. I have to attribute her good health to her food choices (she's a lover of fruits, vegetables and nice herbs) and of course God's Grace. Many people know that garlic has many health benefits because they have heard it too many times, but what are these benefits? Is garlic overrated or should everyone hop on the train and start consuming garlic daily? Let's find out, shall we?

Letting Go

picture from http://joshuaziefle.net/

Happy Independence day fellow Nigerians. Are you celebrating? I'm not, well not ceremoniously at least. Today, I want to talk about letting go. Yes, letting go of habits, emotions, people, things, and everything worth letting go of. You see, life is very interesting. With all of its ups and downs, we go through experiences that many times leave us with souvenirs - good and bad. Sometimes, these souvenirs keep us from moving forward, from getting better things and all we really need to do is to let go. I say "all we really need to do" like it's something so simple, far from it. It is hard as hell and very often takes time. For some people it's a process; a journey but the good news is that IT IS DOABLE. YOU CAN LET GO.

Emotions

Some of us have learned how dangerous emotions can be, if you let them control you. Emotions could put you to shame but even more dis...
