Let's Talk About Love

Sooo, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, let’s talk about love. I mean the pure kind, the kind that we should have for one another, not the epileptic kind which seems to have polluted the world today.

I always say, love is hard work! Don’t get me wrong, love is sweet, amazing and the best gift ever. 

However, when love is tested, it feels like a huge rock placed on your chest, or is that only me? No? Anyone? I know I have partners in this feeling. Now, love is not the enemy here, as people like to bitterly and I must admit poetically write about. Love in itself is amazing but the instruments of love; you and I, are humans bound to make mistakes in life and sometimes these mistakes cause pain to our loved ones. Many times, we really do not mean to but alas, it happens. 

I’m not about to go through the painful details of what we do with love or shall I say the consequences of love. I’m only here as a reality check for us all, to remind us of the ups and downs of human relationships and to reassure us that Love is eternal and Love has got us and I’ll summarize them with a few of my favorite love quotes below:

Happy Independence day fellow Nigerians. Are you celebrating? I'm not, well not ceremoniously at least. Today, I want to talk about letting go. Yes, letting go of habits, emotions, people, things, and everything worth letting go of. You see, life is very interesting. With all of its ups and downs, we go through experiences that many times leave us with souvenirs - good and bad. Sometimes, these souvenirs keep us from moving forward, from getting better things and all we really need to do is to let go. I say "all we really need to do" like it's something so simple, far from it. It is hard as hell and very often takes time. For some people it's a process; a journey but the good news is that IT IS DOABLE. YOU CAN LET GO.

Hey guys, how have you all been? I know it has been a while again; I have been dealing with spiritual, mental, financial and emotional issues. Yes, ALL of them and perhaps even more. Have I got them all figured out? Nope, but let’s just say, I’m in a better place now. I have missed you more than you can ever know and I apologize yet again for my absence. I know your loving hearts will be kind enough to forgive me, one of the reasons why I love you guys and NO, I am not taking you for granted AT ALL, I love you too much.

Okay, so with all the love in my heart right now, I decided that we should talk a bit about friends/friendships. Yes, friends! I’m not going to the dictionary definition now because, I have come to see that many of us define who friends are differently. Basically, I want to know what one must do before you can term that one as a friend. Do I have to make you laugh, be rich, do I have to be smart or sexy or fine or a good listener or a good cook? Or do I not need to do anything at all?

Greetings darlings. I know, I know, I sort of went back on my words concerning my commitment to you and to this space. I'm very sorry, I can't even say how much. Not to make up excuses or anything but I was sort of all over the place, mentally, physically, emotionally... and on and on the list goes. Hello ladies :). How many of you would like to date/marry a guy that cooks? 

Hello guys :). How many of you can cook and will cook for your girlfriend/wife? I don't mean always oh. 

I know many ladies say they don't want a guy that cooks cause they usually complain about the lady's cooking having too much this or too less that. I also know many ladies love the idea of their guy bringing breakfast in bed and home cooked dinners and all of that. Where do you belong?
