The Word of God Gives Peace!

Hi guys, how are we? How is the whole Val’s aftermath? I hope you all had fun and were genuinely happy because really, that’s all that matters and I hope that you’re not saving up all your love for next year again because love is an every second event my darlings. Anyway, speaking on love, today I’d like to talk about the greatest of all; God’s love and specifically His Word.

Over the years, I’ve struggled through dark times and it seems to get more intense as I grow older. You realize you’re grown up and you’re practically accountable for yourself and all your actions. There’s no adult to call on or to blame because you’re supposedly adult enough to handle whatever the situation is. People expect you to know it all and when you fail, you’re scolded and judged by the world, including those who know you and those who don’t. Yes, it sucks but it is life and we can’t control what people think nor can we tell them how to react to things. However, we can talk to one who understands and when we can’t find the words to spill out our hurt, we can simply listen to His pure love as it heals our broken hearts.

At this point, I’d like to quote a few Bible passages;
Hebrews 4:12 – For the word of God is living and active and full of power (making it operative, energizing and effective). It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit (the completeness of a person), and of both joints and marrow (the deepest parts of our nature), exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Amplified Version)

This scripture tells us how powerful the word of God is. It describes God’s word as active; that is it takes action, it does marvelous things, it makes things happen, it is effective in carrying out a purpose. It further goes to explain that it is sharper than two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the soul and spirit. Dang! See, you’ve really got to experience this to get the full capacity of this word right here! The word of God penetrates, deeper than your fake smiles, your flawless skin, your faux confidence, your self-esteem issues, and goes deeper, beyond your insecurities, beyond your heart down to your spirit and soul. The word of God knows even better than you do, why you act the way you do, why you said those awful things, why you felt hurt by those awful things, everything! It exposes and judges the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. Just finish me here. This is so true! Have you ever found yourself trying to argue with God, making excuses for your ill behavior that maybe man may believe but definitely not God?  As you’re thinking those thoughts, God is breaking them down within you, reminding you that it is He, the creator of the universe, your creator and father who knows every strand of your hair that you are speaking to. At this point you just realize your foolishness, give up and ask for His mercy, cleansing and direction. Do you see one of the many awesome things about God, he exposes these thoughts to just you. He is our one and only truly safe and secure, confidential Therapist and Psychiatrist. He exposes your weaknesses to you not to condemn you but in love, He also shows you a way to fix your problems. He is always there to receive you and to guide you. That’s the God I serve. Amazing!

Philipians 4:7 –And the peace of God (that peace which reassures the heart, that peace) which transcends all understanding, (that peace which) stands guard over your heart and your minds in Christ Jesus (is yours). (Amplified Version)

God’s word really does bring peace. Like I said earlier, as he tells you where you went wrong, he doesn’t leave you feeling lost or too broken to be fixed. He reminds you that He has got you and walking with him, you are safe and your future is sure. Regardless of what comes your way; spiritual, physical, emotional, mental stress and attacks, once you stay with God and obey His word as He directs you, you will have His peace and this reassures you in your every move. There’s nothing as comforting as God’s peace. Even when men fail you, attack you or persecute you, once you know you stand right with God, you will not be shaken.

1 Peter 5:7 – Casting all your cares (all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all) on Him, for He cares about you (with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully). (Amplified Version)

As humans, having worries, concerns or even fears is inexorable but the Bible says that we should cast them all unto God and this version adds “ONCE AND FOR ALL” for he cares about you. It goes further to try to explain how much he cares in this version, it says “with deepest affection and watches over you very carefully”. Have you had a loved one just stare at you for no just cause, maybe even while asleep? My dad used to watch over me like that when I slept. He would then tell me and make fun of  how I sleep with my eyes open and how I pout when I woke up. As funny and (depending on who) sometimes uncomfortable as this may seem, you kind of feel loved don’t you. I know I did and still do, hehe! It’s normal for us to discuss some of our fears and worries with friends and family, people we consider to be loved ones, just to feel better or even get some advice but telling God undeniably outweighs the relief you feel. He doesn’t just listen or advice you, He guides you, fixes the situation as you obey him and fixes You too. Isn’t that amazing?

I just shared this to remind us that God loves us and really wants the best for us and even more, He is able to give us that best, we just need to drop our “know it all” attitude and get on board with His plans for us. Let’s walk this life journey with the one who gave it to us in the first place, isn’t that the best game plan ever???

Prayer: I pray for God’s peace, beyond understanding for us all. I pray that we will feel his presence in all that we do, through whatever we’re going through and know that he is there and I pray that we submit to him, letting him work his ways in us to bring us to our place of great rejoicing and rest in Jesus name, Amen.
Please share your thoughts and experiences about God’s word and how it has saved you and brought you peace in your life. Always and forever, love and light.
