Let's Talk About Love

Sooo, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, let’s talk about love. I mean the pure kind, the kind that we should have for one another, not the epileptic kind which seems to have polluted the world today.
I always say, love is hard work! Don’t get me wrong, love is sweet, amazing and the best gift ever.

However, when love is tested, it feels like a huge rock placed on your chest, or is that only me? No? Anyone? I know I have partners in this feeling. Now, love is not the enemy here, as people like to bitterly and I must admit poetically write about. Love in itself is amazing but the instruments of love; you and I, are humans bound to make mistakes in life and sometimes these mistakes cause pain to our loved ones. Many times, we really do not mean to but alas, it happens.

I’m not about to go through the painful details of what we do with love or shall I say the consequences of love. I’m only here as a reality check for us all, to remind us of the ups and downs of human relationships and to reassure us that Love is eternal and Love has got us and I’ll summarize them with a few of my favorite love quotes below:

"Pray for Me"

Hey everyone! How have you all been? Can you believe it's September already. Wow! Time really does fly, doesn't it? I hope you all have achieved some of your set goals for the year and if you haven't, don't stress it too much. Just do what you can with the time left. I am way behind schedule on my goals and this doesn't even sound like news anymore but I am so glad that things are beginning to pick up again. There are still a lot of things to process and clarify but at least we are making progress and that makes me happy. So to our topic - Pray for Me, follow me...

Love and Marriage

Hey guys, how are we doing? My days have been hot and cold, almost fell ill or maybe did a little but I'm good now. Anyway, it's been a while I just talked and I've been wanting to for a while now, but you know how these things are now, right? I'm here now, though :D. I ended last year marrying a cousin out and started this year marrying a friend out ( it sounds like I'm the one collecting the bride price, right? lol). Yeah, so the whole relationship and marriage topic started flowing around again for some time,  you  know the usual questions from every corner, those with the right to ask and those who have no business asking, "When are we coming for your own oh?", "| So, when are we meeting him now?" and the likes. Well, I think all of that inspired me to talk my talk today, so come with me and flow through my mind.

It's Thanksgiving Again! What Are You Thankful For?

http://theavtimes.com/

Happy thanksgiving everyone! How are you doing? It's thanksgiving season again and I believe you have many reasons to be thankful. I know I do and that's why I'm here today; to share some of the reasons why I'm thankful. It's very usual to hear people say they don't have reasons to be thankful and I must say that this is very sad. First, because it is untrue and also because your negative attitude or your ingratitude hinders you from receiving more blessings. If you can't see and appreciate what you have right now, what use would it be to give you more? Always be grateful people, no matter what you're going through the fact remains that there are people who have it better and those who have it worse than you do. I'm not here to preach today, I'm here to count some of my blessings with you, so please, follow me :).

Parenting - The "Little Things" You Do That Ruin Your Child

picture from www.dailymail.co.uk

Hi everyone. How is work, love and life treating you, I hope we're happy with at least one of these. I want to talk about parenting and I hope I can stick to "the little things" here - whatever they are. Some of us are parents already, some will be, pretty soon, and some, hope to be one day. The thing is, many people have no idea what it takes to be parents, yes, even some that have 20 kids already. It's not just about giving birth so you could bear the title mummy/daddy, having little ones to send on errands to the nearby store or simply to have people to take care of you when you're old and gray. No, it goes way beyond that. Having children should not be for your selfish reasons alone (yes, alone because let's face it, it should be for our joy too). The society we have today is one way or another as a result of the grooming the people received by the parents. One day, your daughter might be president, your son might be an ambassador, what values will you instill in them? The foundation of everything in life goes a long way in determining the strength and success of that entity. Our children's foundations should be built by us and I tell you it is not an easy task at all, there are influences everywhere but at the end of the day they come back home to you and they look up to you the most. What do you tell them is wrong or right? What do you trash out and tell them never to pick up again? Do you tell them why? Let's look at some things parents do that affect their kids and hopefully, let's start to amend our ways; it's never too late to try.

Money Weirdness

picture from http://naijas.com/

Hey guys, how was your weekend? I hope you were all able to rest well. Let's start the week with a little money talk, shall we? First, let's go back to those good old days when you had no care in the world, or at least, no serious care. Do you remember? Do you remember when you thought 5 bucks could buy everything you wanted in the world? My youngest nephew was recently given a cash gift for coming out top of his class. First, he was a little confused, given that he was expecting a toy or even candy and then it seemed like realization dawned on him that he finally had money (he's 4); something he was told too often wasn't available when he made silly requests. His dad came in a few minutes later and he ran to him showing him his cash gift "daddy daddy uncle gave me money, now I can buy anything I want". Awwh, how naive right? Sometimes, that's just bliss. The innocence of a child is adorably pure and peaceful.

Let's Work Out

picture from www.trends4youth.com

Hi guys! What's popping? Yes, I'm sure you guessed that the next thing after eating right would be working out, right? I can imagine my siblings cracking up at the thought of me writing this. You see, I DO NOT like to work out, but what I can't stand is the thought of adding flesh in the wrong places. So for me, it's a matter of choosing the lesser evil, of which in this case, is working out! That's right! I would humbly offer my body to work out sessions to get rid of flab I do not want. It's sort of tricky for me because I'm seen to be naturally skinny. Let me tell you a bit about that, follow me.

What's Your Status?

picture from thechefkatrina.com

Hi everyone!

Remember how you started the year? You should jo, it's not so far away, though if you don't remember, don't fret it, I can relate. However, let's try and remember sha. I don't do the whole new year resolution thing simply because I don't trust me enough, but I usually do enter each year(this I noticed very recently~say three years now) with a highly positive spirit. I enter feeling like the world is my oyster, you know, and somehow life just has to be better than the previous year. Usually I pray for different areas of my life and just ask God to take control. Truth is, most times I forget all I've even asked for. Are they not important? Of course they are, I think it is my fear of not receiving these things or my fear of not doing my part in working towards getting my request that makes my brain lazily shut down those memories. I know if I really sit to think, I'll know all I asked and wished the year would be. This year, however, was different.

Emotions

Some of us have learned how dangerous emotions can be, if you let them control you. Emotions could put you to shame but even more dis...
